Japanese Listening Practice Recommendations!

    



    This weekend I spent some time improving my Japanese listening skills by watching a couple videos by the YouTube channel, called Japarrot!-Let's Learn Japanese. I really enjoyed watching and listening to these videos because they introduced new material but also reminded me of past lessons and vocab we covered in class before. I also really liked the videos' structure because it plays out the story without any subtitles at first but later goes back and explains what each phrase and words meant in these specific scenarios. I definitely am going to go back to this channel and watch more, and I recommend you watch some of these videos, if you are looking for additional help!おすすめします。😁

Japan-related Video

While searching, I found and watched a YouTube video of a woman going to Kamakura, Japan. Throughout the video, the woman communicates what she was seeing and doing all in Japanese. This video made me realize how much more I need to learn and practice regarding Japanese, but also the progress I have made so far:) I was able to understand certain words and also read what was shown on the screen. I enjoyed learning about Kamakura and the wonderful place it seems to be. Hope I can visit one day!

After watching a couple videos from the YouTube channel,  Akane-JapaneseClass , I decided to watch their video on ordering coffee in Japanese.                                                     Conversation for ordering coffee in Japanese   Watching their videos has given me the chance to learn real life conversations and situations in Japanese. They give you a perspective of going to a place where English isn't used, and what is looks and sounds like.  Throughout the video you not only see them ordering coffee and food in Japanese but also the polite and proper etiquette. I definitely plan to continue watching and learning from these videos of life in Japan.
