Shoplifters

Image
Shoplifters directed by Hirokazu koreeda is a story about a family who is not blood related but through various situations ends up together. This film leaves the viewer with various emotions due to the sad ending and unanswered questions. Shoplifters really showcase's the love of a family even if it's created through many hardships. My favorite part was when they were at the beach, and everyone was laughing and having fun before life took a turn for all of them. Overall, I think Shoplifters is a film everyone should watch!

Japan-related video #4

Image
Due to the increased number of Japan-related videos I been watching, my YouTube home page has started recommending me certain videos, guiding me to the video I watched today.  This video by the YouTube channel, Gohantsubu Learn Japanese , is a Japanese listening practice. This specific video is a story or scenario at a convinces store. I really liked this video due to its format. The video starts all in Japanese, then the second half is the speaker breaking down the story and the exact meaning of everything that was said. Overall, a great way to practice and continue learning Japanese!

Japan-related Video #3

Searching through my Spotify playlist I found a song that I haven't listened to in a while called, "青い珊瑚礁", by Seiko Matsuda. The tile translates to "Blue Coral Reef " and seems to be a love song. This track came out in the 1980s and has almost 10 million views on YouTube. It's really catchy and definitely a song I will listen to more often, hopefully even be able to sing along to one day.  😆🎧

Grave of the Fireflies

I watched the Grave of the Fireflies this past Thursday, and while I can say it was extremely good it was also incredibly sad. I didn't expect myself to cry so much but I just did. This experience has inspired me to watch more movies in Japanese. Overall, I couldn't recommend this movie more.
